^^THE STRUGGLE FOR FRANCE!
^
On 24th May, 1337, King Phillip de Valois of France, desiring to unite
the patchwork of fiefs and feudal holdings that diluted Royal power,
declared that Guyenne (the lands around Bordeaux held by the English for
a century) had been forfeited by King Edward "because of the many excesses,
rebellious and disobedient acts committed by the King of England against
Us and Our Royal Majesty". Edward responded by asserting a long-standing
Plantagenet claim to the French Crown. Slowly, the two kingdoms lumbered
into war......
^
It is recommended you play either the French or English initially. However,
all kingdoms are playable. You should try King level first, then try at
Emperor level (Deity in standard Civ II).
^
OBJECT: Conquer France! Each city on the map is either a minor or major
objective, but the real goal of the two main contenders was control over
the bulk of what we think of today as France. The minor kingdoms are out
for as much territory as they can grab. Take your starting VP total and
double it, to consider yourself to have done well.
^
Other remarks:
No technologies may be acquired by conquest.
Government switching is possible, but limited.
The Civilopedia has been extensively customised for this scenario. I STRONGLY
advise that you check it out first!
